MARK RUSIC'S BIOGRAPHY:
Mark made the most of a rocky start in life. He eventually worked as an engineer and then as a missionary to Indonesia. As a pastor-life coach since 2002 he could not find full contentment until he got in touch with his creative side.
He discovered he could paint, and even sell paintings, to the 'I-never-buy-art' types, from around the globe. Then, using his art, he found he could write books with a creative ‘boom’ and be counted among some of the best authors in my nation.  That was just the beginning.

In 2012 he began working as a motivational speaker to many organisations, and in 2015 he started visiting remote Indigenous communities to life coach individuals. In 2017 he formerly began Iconic Colours, doing talks and art workshops to boost people's creativity, high achieveability and dreamability.

ARTIST STATEMENT:
Twenty years ago I began painting landscapes in an impressionistic, expressionistic, semi-abstract style, where the subject matter is readily discerned, but the colours and form are subjective to enhance beauty.
However, despite colours and form, art has always been about the art moving people, and touching them. Paintings can carry a voice.
Today, now 2022, my delight is a figurative, post impressionistic style, following in the foot steps of Van Gogh. His quest for a utopian world with its subtle, but bold portrayal through paint on canvas, is something that resonates deeply with me today. I am applying this and taking it further to produce exhibits that capture and birth new and hope filled narratives speaking into various challenges we face in society. For example, in the area of Indigenous peoples and reconciliation.
So, my workshops are really the product of a lot of hard work to get this point, which I relish in passing on to others.
I love using complementary colours in impasto oils with lively, textured brush strokes to create a vibe.  I have been profoundly  inspired by the brush work of Vincent Van Gogh and what he foretold saying, "But the painter of the future will be a colourist the like of which has never yet been seen. But I'm sure I am right to think that it will come in a later generation..."  ~ 1888
I also enjoy painting to help people live out their dream or empower their business.  Practically, this involves producing  “Paint-your-passion,” “Visualize-your-vision” or Boost-your-brand” paintings for individuals or corporates.
